Tis The Season To Be Jolly

Well here it is coming up Christmas 2006.

Suppose to be a good time all around... Things will be very different in our house this year,,, No decorations,,,no parties,,,, no excitement!! No it isn't a bah humbug situation ... I have been undergoing some extensive tests for pain in my upper body, and  with no results yet,,,, my hubby had a heart attack! He is home now but has a very strict schedule with no driving and not too much else except two 15 minute slow walks a day...

So as you can imagine Christmas 2006 will be a very quiet one...

Oh well I guess we will just rest up and get well for next year....

Meanwhile

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL

 and to all a

GOODNIGHT

A new Toy

Hi there!!!

Here I am working on my new laptop. An early Xmas present from my Dear Husband,,,,aren't I lucky??!!

We won't celebrate Christmas  to any great extent this year... Nothing much planned except a couple of dinners and get-togethers with friends, No family around here anymore. Our daughter is in Calgary Alberta .....wish she was closer.

We were going to go to Florida for Christmas, but plans change! I have had to undergo some extensive testing for pain in my back, No results in yet, so the doctor doesn't want me to go too far away.

Lastnight I had to take my hubby to emerge with chest pains and a bunch of symptoms  which needed tending to...So he is in hospital being monitered to find out the problem.

I am looking out on a blanket of snow this morning....First we have had.

It's pretty but I don't like driving in it....However I guess I will just have to "PUT MY BIG GIRL PANTIES AND DEAL WITH IT!!!"

So I am going to put on my warm clothes and go shovel!!!

Come back soon

Christmas-Is-A-Comin'

Yes... Christmas is on the way and if I  had wings like my angel maybe I could fly through my day and get something serious done!!

It has been social year for me. I have not been very dedicated to my art as I  usually am. Gone are the nights I toiled until 3 -4 AM feverishly trying to get Xmas things ready for the shops! I have gone on several quilting retreats and enjoyed every minute. My DH wonders if I belong to a "Retreat of the Month Club"

Keeping on the social note, we have decided to visit our friends in Winterhaven Florida for a couple of weeks over Christmas and New Years. I have never been to Florida so am looking forward to this adventure. Keeping our fingers crossed that the weather will accomodate us. No snowstorms to deal with on the way ....PLEASE!!!!

I have managed to work on some beaded bags, and a couple of beaded dolls along with a Santa or two, so all is not lost!!!Oh yes and some bags too. .. I did finish some of those in a "Red Hat " theme.

I got some fabulous cat tapestry by laurel Burch known for her "cats" in the fabric world.. To find it in tapestry was a real bonus, so I do want to produce some bags in that.. I'll keep you posted!

Hello October

  • Mood enthusiastic
  • Weather Sunny/cool

I guess summer is really over and here comes October. Such a lovely time of year . The trees in all their splendour bursting with colors is such a feast for the eyes.I wish I had more time to enjoy the beauty .and shame on me for not making time! BUT.,.,.,.,.,..

Here comes my busiest time of the year as far as studio work goes, and from now til December I will hardly have time to lift my eyes from my work. Commissions to complete and new things to try, and clients that depend on me to create something new for their collections. The ideas send my thoughts spinning, but guess what???

I think I will put all that on hold for just a short time, get my walking shoes on and go for a hike.

My inner self has been telling me"never put off 'til to-morrow what you can do to-day", and if you don't do it to-day a brisk wind may steal all those pretty tree ornaments that Mother Nature has so generously provided  and we will be left waiting for another year to enjoy all that beauty. So her I go with no regrets,.,.,..I think I will take my camera along to capture what I see. It will be nice to look back on a cold winter day when all the trees are captured by Jack Frost and remember  what they were wearing last season!

Catcha later.
